charity: water is a fundraising and awareness organization committed to sustainable, impactful programming on the ground. We currently work with local partners in each country and are investing in comprehensive water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) interventions.
We work closely with these local partners on the ground who coordinate and implement all of our water projects. The sites they work on are live construction sites and they often employ locals from the community to help implement the projects. In fact, even when our teams visit projects, we are careful to plan our time accordingly to not disrupt the work or disturb the day-to-day livelihoods of people in these communities.
Unfortunately, we don’t involve volunteers in project construction. Investing in local expertise is the best way to create long-term impact, and our partners have years of experience and local knowledge to deliver the best water projects to the communities we serve.
While our partners drill through bedrock, protect springs, and mobilize communities every day, charity: water’s role is to raise awareness and funds.
